Stoneware for fine utility ceramics.
Porcelain for delicate, translucent, bright white treasures.
Raku for special one-off pieces made from fire and smoke.
Margrit Jann mainly produces utility ceramics. She uses stoneware or porcelain clay as the starting material, which is fired in an electric kiln at 1240º C. This material and the high firing temperature guarantee high-quality end products (dishwasher-safe).
She likes to live out her playful side with the wood-fired Raku kiln or with a pitfire in the garden. This creates unique decorative objects.
In all techniques, she favours simple, almost austere forms.
