In Switzerland, payment is made in Swiss francs and rappen.
In many shops and restaurants you can also pay in euros, at best at a poor exchange rate.

Currency exchange
The Weggis post office offers euro change (max. CHF 14,999.95). Smaller euro amounts can also be changed into Swiss francs at the Tourist Information Weggis. The bank branches in the Lucerne Riviera do not offer a currency exchange service.
The vignette costs CHF 40 per year. It is sold at petrol stations, at the post office counter and at customs offices at the border. It is also possible to buy an electronic vignette.

A wheelchair and other medical equipment can be hired from the Spitex.
In Switzerland, the mains voltage is 230 V at a frequency of 50 Hz. Type C and J plugs and sockets are used.
In most newer buildings, you will find type J sockets, which accept the Euro plug.
The Swiss national holidays are the National Day (on 1 August), New Year, Ascension Day and Christmas. Good Friday, Easter Monday, Whit Monday and St Stephen's Day are also celebrated in many parts of Switzerland. Regional and local public holidays are also celebrated. Most shops are closed on public holidays.
