Chapel
The All Saints' Chapel, dating from 1623 and simple on the outside, surprises on the inside. Wall paintings and a ceiling finely decorated with ornaments adorn the Catholic chapel.
The All Saints' Chapel in the lower village of Weggis is a special sacred building. With its rich interior decoration and the artistically outstanding fresco cycle, the chapel goes beyond the scope of the normal, mostly modest chapel foundations.

History

In order to be independent of the village church in the upper village, the inhabitants of the lower village built the All Saints' Chapel in 1623 with the financial support of the knight Ludwig Amrhyn.

The chapel, which is now a listed building, was moved by 2 metres in 1978 in a widely acclaimed move to allow the narrow road to be widened to accommodate the increasing traffic.

Weddings

With seating for 50 people, the chapel is suitable for weddings on a small scale. If you live in one of the parishes on the lake, you can use the church free of charge. Otherwise you pay a flat rate. Contact the parish secretariat for all details about the wedding ceremony.
