Weggis Sunday Concert

A very special event as part of the Weggis Sunday concerts with a four-piece ensemble called ‘SOOON’. The 3 O's stand for overtone singing, Eastern Switzerland and yodelling. The quartet consists of Sonja Morgenegg (voice, guitar), John Wolf Brennan (piano and melodica), Rätus Flisch (double bass) and Tony Majdalani (vocals and percussion). By their own admission, this formation combines elements of ‘new Swiss folk music, global yodelling, shamanic chants, Arabic music, klezmer, Scandinavian & Irish folk and jazz improvisations’; they also perform the original version of the ‘Rigilied’ from 1832.
