The German organist Stefan Kordes plays the last recital of the Weggis Sunday Concerts this winter season. The award-winning soloist is cantor and organist at St Jacob's Lutheran Church in Göttingen. Known through radio and TV recordings, the artist has already performed in almost all European countries as well as in Asia. In Weggis, he will perform a toccata by Frescobaldi and Georg Muffat, as well as two baroque works by the North German Dieterich Buxtehude and Joh. Seb. Bach. A finale from Felix Mendelssohn's 6th Sonata, the brilliant variations on a theme by Paganini for pedal solo by George Thalben-Ball, a prayer by Oskar Merikanto and a brilliant final toccata by the French late Romantic composer Eugène Gigout provide stylistic variety. All music lovers are recommended to attend this extraordinary concert.
